Thank you, Rufus, for showing your support for REMEMBER O GODDESS! I really appreciate the warm supports from the Korean film bloggers' community which I hadn't been aware of before launching the campaign. Yes, Korean filmmakers should know how much supports they can obtain from the international viewers. I'll let them know! - Yoon Jung

Thanks for the kind words Roger & McBuddy. I'd watched The Furies when Criterion had first released their special edition (still need to read the included novel), but this was the first serious viewing of the film I've committed myself to. Stanwyck is always such an incredible force on screen, but I found her power of hate on display here to possibly even triumph her femme fatale work in Double Indemnity. Later in the year I'm gonna review her partnership with Sam Fuller, Forty Guns. Another Western that deserves more love from fanboys.

As a Stanwyck aficionado, I've read many reviews of this movie -- but this one really hits the mark and is written in refreshingly original style. Nice work!

So great to read such a positive review of this wonderful film. It's Oscar win was a surprise to many because Waltz with Bashir (Israel) and The Class (France) were very heavily favored. Departure's win was also a surprise to the director and cast, who were at the Oscars. I had the pleasure to watch a special screening of it at which director Yôjirô Takita and actor Masahiro Motoki were present. They spoke of how they looked at one another to be sure that they'd heard the announcement correctly! It's been dismissed by some as being too lightweight, a view I strongly disagree with. I found it to be a deeply touching and moving film.

It's a beautiful film. It a film that is not full of conceit or pretense. It handles the matter of death in a realistic and humane fashion. It has a sense of humor but it's at realistic levels. I really love this film. It's one of the best films I have ever had the pleasure of viewing from any country. You learn a lot about Japanese culture and people through this movie. Masahiro Motoki and Ry?ko Hirosue give outstanding performances. It's nice to see Ry?ko in such a mature role. However, the star is Masahiro, and I was very touched by his performance. I know him from a Japanese Drama called Style! He played a very egotistic character and to be able to compare his performances from each lead me to be that he's a very wonderful actor.
